Editor Notes
🎯 Should you use Instant Data Scraper?
Buy if: You need to pull LinkedIn search results or job board listings into a spreadsheet once or twice a week without paying for a real scraper.
Skip if: You need scheduled scraping, session persistence, or anything more complex than one-off table exports.
⚡ In practice
- ●Setup: Install in 30 seconds, zero config.
- ●LinkedIn profiles: Highlight, click, export 25 results in under a minute.
- ●Job board scraping: Works on static listings, fails on infinite scroll.
- ●Pagination: Crawls multi-page tables automatically, but breaks on dynamic loaders.
⚠️ Where it breaks
- ●No automation, so you manually click every time you want fresh data.
- ●Falls apart on JavaScript-heavy sites like Greenhouse career pages or Apollo filters.
- ●Cannot save scraping templates or schedule recurring exports.
💸 Is it worth the money?
It costs zero dollars. If you scrape LinkedIn once a week and hate paying for Phantombuster or hireEZ enrichment add-ons, this replaces nothing but saves you from opening a paid tier.
🆚 If not this
- ●Phantombuster -> When you need scheduled LinkedIn scraping or multi-step automation.
- ●ContactOut -> When you need email enrichment bundled with the scrape.
🎯 Final verdict
Best free option for ad-hoc LinkedIn or job board exports, but breaks the second you need automation or complex sites.
Instant Data Scraper is one of those tools I grab when I need data fast and don't want to set up anything. It's a Chrome extension: you click it, it detects the table or list on the page, and you export. Done. I've used it to quickly pull candidate lists from directories, scrape event attendee pages, and grab data from job boards. It's not a system you build workflows around, it's a quick hack for one-off jobs. And honestly, that's perfectly fine. Not everything needs to be a full pipeline. The auto-detection is surprisingly good, though sometimes you need to nudge it. For recurring scraping needs, look at something more robust. But for "I need this data right now," Instant Data Scraper is hard to beat.
