Editor Notes
π― Should you use Claude AI?
Buy if: You write 20+ candidate messages a day and need someone to draft the first version faster than you can type.
Skip if: You expect it to source candidates, run campaigns, or integrate with your ATS without copy-paste.
β‘ In practice
- βSetup: 2 minutes to sign up, zero integration
- βBoolean strings: Drafts accurate X-Ray searches in 15 seconds
- βOutreach messages: Personalized InMails in under a minute per candidate
- βJob description rewrites: Turns internal jargon into readable copy fast
β οΈ Where it breaks
- βNo ATS integration means you copy-paste everything manually between tools.
- βIt invents plausible-sounding facts about candidates if you feed it partial LinkedIn data.
πΈ Is it worth the money?
Free plan gives you 20-30 messages per day, enough for solo sourcers. $20/month Pro removes the cap and adds longer context, worth it if you process 10+ CVs daily or draft multi-paragraph role briefs.
π If not this
- βChatGPT -> Same price, faster replies, but hallucinates candidate details more often
- βGem -> Writes outreach inside your workflow with real CRM tracking, costs $100/month
- βLoxo -> Built-in AI for sourcing and messaging, $119/user/month, actually finds candidates
π― Final verdict
Buy it if you write all day and hate starting from a blank page, skip it if you want recruiting software instead of a writing assistant.
Claude is what I reach for when I need structured, thoughtful output. Compared to ChatGPT, the writing feels cleaner and more nuanced, less "AI-sounding" if that makes sense. I actually used Claude to help build the SourcrLab website itself, which tells you something about how much I trust it for real work. For recruiting specifically, I find it great at writing longer-form content, analyzing candidate data, and helping with strategic thinking. It follows complex instructions better than most alternatives. The downside? It's less well-known, so there are fewer recruiting-specific prompts and templates floating around. But honestly, that might be an advantage: you're less likely to sound like every other recruiter using the same ChatGPT template.
